Whether you are thinking about an international career or just yearn for a life of travel, a minor in Spanish can prepare you for the world ahead, or signal to employers and graduate schools that you are ready for international opportunities. A minor involves taking six to seven courses, as described below, and can augment your major program. More advanced students may substitute upper-level electives for 1xx-2xx courses by advisement.

Learning Outcomes

Students will:
1. Demonstrate basic communicative proficiency in Spanish across skill areas (listening, speaking, reading, writing).
2. Demonstrate basic understanding of cultures that speak Spanish.
